DALLAS McGarrah/Jessee has hired logo and typography specialist David Kampa to lead its in-house design shop Chaos, said partner Bryan Jessee.

Kampa will direct the Austin, Texas, design group’s work for M/J clients like HEB’s Central Market, Whataburger, Shiner Beer and Frost Bank, Jessee said.

Kampa was previously senior designer at Sibley/Peteet Design and has worked with a number of top designers at Texas Monthly magazine and Pirtle Design in Dallas.

A graduate of East Texas State University (now Texas A&M in Commerce, Texas), Kampa ran his own design studio in Austin for 15 years, working with a national roster including Nike, the National Basketball Association, the National Football League and Disney, as well as regional clients.
