CHICAGO J.C. Penney will break new TV spots during the 75th annual Academy Awards telecast on Sunday to showcase its new spring line, a company executive said.

The Plano, Texas-based retailer purchased 2 1/2 minutes of airtime during the Oscars, considered the female equivalent of the Super Bowl, with a combination of 60- and 30-second spots, said Patrick Conboy, J.C. Penney’s vice president, director of strategic marketing.

The spots from DDB Chicago continue the “It’s all inside” tagline.
