Women Trail Men At Entertainment Sites
The overall user composition of the top three music-oriented Web sites illustrates how Web surfers will gravitate to content that’s aimed at them. In October, men comprised 68 percent of visitors to Dallas-based Broadcast.com, which is focused on sports and news programming. Shockwave.com had a larger percentage of kids and teens drawn to the site by its animated offerings. Despite the fact that the ratio of men and women online has stabilized at nearly 50-50 in the past year, women 18+ continue to be under-represented at the top three music-oriented sites.
