The first thing I do is look at my emails. I also subscribe to various websites, from People.com to E! Online to Adweek—my minor in college was advertising. What do you read or watch or listen to at the breakfast table? I’m a die-hard Today show fan, so I turn on Matt and Ann. Every morning for five years, my husband Bill has said to me, “You want to see what’s going on in the world?” And our interpretation of that is watching the Today show. What occupies your mind in the car, on the subway, train or bus? On my way to work I call my assistant Sarah and go over my schedule, which includes hosting E! News nightly, co-hosting Fashion Police and shooting Season 5 of our show, Giuliana & Bill, which we’re doing now. Are you a TV junkie or on an airtime-restricted diet? Oh God, TV junkie all the way! If you’re a couch potato, what do you watch, and how: TV, laptop or tablet? I’m a huge reality TV fanatic, and I love competition shows—everything from The Kardashians and The Real Housewives to the The Voice and American Idol. I love reality—I feel like if it’s not real, why watch it? I’m not into scripted shows like I used to be. Before bed, do you bite into a novel, graze on Twitter or fast until morning? Twitter, 100 percent. I love Twitter and have about 2.5 million followers. I think it’s because I engage with my fans. Usually I’ll spend the later part of the night sitting in bed on my iPad responding to people. Which is more nutritious: print or Web? As a journalism student—I studied it both as an undergrad and graduate—I hate to say it, but to be honest, the Web. I still love a good book, but I’ll read it on my iPad. Right now I’m reading Kris Jenner … And All Things Kardashian. I love autobiographies. Give us the skinny on your favorite app. I’m loving this app called Viddy. It’s like a video Twitter. I also love the Kayak app because I’m always scheduling the next flight, and Realtor.com because my husband is in real estate so we’re always on the lookout for projects. And the E! Online app, of course. Even though I work at E!, I get a lot of my information from there. What’s your biggest digital indulgence? Definitely my iPad. I need a deal with them—I’ve dropped their name about 400 times now. I hope Apple is reading this! With such a bloated media universe, how do you cut out the fat? Delete! I can’t do clutter, so every so often I’ll go through my phone and delete various apps. I like to try new things out, but as soon as it gets annoying, I have to unsubscribe.
