Space Center Houston has put its agency review on hold, saying it lacked the time necessary to find a new shop before its summer advertising push.

‘As we’ve gotten into the review, the only conclusion we’ve come to is that it’s going to take a lot longer than we originally thought,’ said Roger Bornstein, Space Center’s vice president of marketing.

Fogarty Klein & Partners in Houston resigned the attraction’s $1.5 million ad account in March.

Bornstein, who joined Space Center in 1996 after 20 years at Six Flags, said he will handle the account in-house until ads are on the air in May and then resume an agency search.

Bornstein said his staff will probably combine existing footage with new copy for the quick-turn ads.
