This ‘House of Redemption’ Saves Cars, not Souls

ATLANTA The Republik has produced a series of posters bearing the images of junked cars to promote a business that restores old vehicles, the agency said.

The independent Durham, N.C., shop photographed the grill of a 1973 Cadillac Coupe DeVille, the rear quarter panel and roof of a 1969 Ford Torino GT and the front quarter panel and driver’s window of a 1970 Oldsmobile 98 for the campaign.

“House of automotive restoration and redemption” is the campaign tagline.

The posters will be given away and sold by the client, Richardson’s Rod & Custom of Advance, N.C., at car shows throughout the Southeast.

It’s the agency’s first work for the client and Richardson’s first attempt at advertising its service. The Republik acquired the account last summer without a review.

Billings were not disclosed, but the account is small, the agency said.
