Y&R Media Executive Resigns DETROIT--Susan Kiltie resigned as senior vice president and media director on the Ford Motor Co. Lincoln-Mercury account at Young & Rubicam here, opting not to transfer to Irvine, Calif. The agency will open an office in Irvine in July to service the Ford division, which is moving its headquarters there. So far, Kiltie is the only executive who has decided not to move, said Cathy Coraci, Y&R's human resources director. Y&R Detroit president John Hirschboeck will lead the California operations. JWT Handling New Kellogg Product CHICAGO--Kellogg Co. this week introduces Breakfast Mates, a new product combining cereal, milk and a spoon in one package. The Dannon Co. is handling distribution and in-store merchandising of the product, which will be sold in supermarkets' refrigerated sections. National TV and print advertising from Kellogg agency J. Walter Thompson, New York, is part of a $30 million marketing budget for the rollout. Burnett Assigned Searle Drug CHICAGO--The Searle & Co. pharmaceuticals unit of Monsanto assigned Leo Burnett here global advertising for Celebra, a new arthritis drug. Although approval of the drug by the Food and Drug Administration is not expected until 1999, sources estimated planned global spending for the product at more than $30 million. Boston Beer Poised for Campaign BOSTON--Boston Beer, brewer of Samuel Adams, is preparing to launch what may be the biggest advertising blitz in the company's history, sources said. The company has allocated $15-20 million to a national cable, regional and spot TV campaign being developed by Carmichael Lynch in Minneapolis, according to sources. Bud Gets Ready to Rumble CHICAGO--Michael Buffer, famous for his "Let's get ready to rumble" call, will be featured in upcoming TV, print, radio and point-of-purchase advertisements for Anheuser-Busch's Budweiser, and will serve as ring announcer at boxing events sponsored by the brand. The ads are handled by DDB Needham Chicago. Domino's Readies Delivery Innovation CHICAGO--Advertising touting Domino's Pizza's new Heat Wave high-tech delivery bag will break during the second week of May. Spots, from Campbell Mithun Esty, Minneapolis, continue the "Delivering a million smiles a day" tagline. Leap Group CFO Vezmar Resigns CHICAGO--The Leap Group is looking for a chief financial officer following the resignation last week of Peter Vezmar, who had been CFO and treasurer since March 1996. The agency said it will seek a CFO whose strengths are dealing with Wall Street, where Leap stock has languished, and instituting cost controls.
