A McCann's Cohn Ends Run, Curtain Opens for Mohon LOS ANGELES--L.A. media veteran Ricki Cohn has left her post as senior vice president/group director on the Sony Pictures Entertainment account at McCann-Erickson here. Cohn, whose rƒsumƒ includes stints at Team One Advertising and Campbell-Ewald/West, among other shops, is weighing offers from several buying services and agencies. Her replacement at McCann is Jane Mohon. A WongDoody Brings It Home LOS ANGELES--WongDoody is launching a yearlong print campaign for MGM Home Entertainment beginning Feb. 3. Print ads tagged "MGM means great movies" will appear first in Entertainment Weekly. The campaign, via the agency's Santa Monica, Calif., office, is intended to showcase the breadth of MGM's movie catalog. A Freei.Net Taps Siltanen LOS ANGELES--Freei.net, a free Internet service provider, hired newly formed Siltanen/Keehn Advertising as its agency. The Seattle-based company claims ad spending will be $50 million. It has more than 1.5 million subscribers. The agency was founded by former TBWA/Chiat/Day executives Rob Siltanen and Pam Keehn. A GMO Breaks New Effort for Carclub.com LOS ANGELES--Goldberg Moser O'Neill is set to break a campaign at the end of the second quarter on behalf of client Carclub.com. The San Francisco agency landed ad duties for the locally based client last year, and has been quietly working on the account. Ad spending is more than $10 million, according to agency executives. Carclub provides members with information about buying, selling and servicing their vehicles. A Reviews Roundup ... Subway Feeding Frenzy Subway will have a list of contenders for its $90 million national media buying and planning account this week. Final presentations for the Milford, Conn.-based sandwich restaurant chain are set for Feb. 9-10. Earlier this month [Adweek, Jan. 3], Subway launched a search for a media agency after parting with Publicis & Hal Riney, Chicago. Midsized and large media agencies were invited. A creative search launched concurrently is due to be completed in March. Search firm AAR/Bob Wolf Partners, Los Angeles and New York, is conducting the review on behalf of the client. ... Airwalk cut the list of contenders for its estimated $1-3 million account to five. They are: Barnhart/CMI, Denver; Bozell, Seattle; Bulldog Drummond, San Diego; Odiorne Wilde Narraway & Partners, San Francisco; and Modernista!, Boston, according to consultancy Select Resources International, Los Angeles. ... Safeco is seeking a change from its traditional trade print and consumer broadcast ad strategy. The Seattle-based insurance firm enlisted Select Resources International, Los Angeles, to conduct a review on its behalf. Cole & Weber, Seattle, the 20-year incumbent, will defend the $6-7 million account. A decision is due in April. ... Pierson Hawkins of Denver has taken over the Giant Bicycles ad account, once handled by Hammerquist & Halverson, Seattle. Pierson, which plans to conduct a complete strategy review, said a campaign will launch in spring or summer. Billings are estimated to be below $1 million.
