CME Wins Penske Account DETROIT-Penske Auto Center in Troy, Mich., has awarded its $15-22 million account to Campbell Mithun Esty in Minneapolis. McCann-Erickson in Troy was the other finalist. Harris, Baio & McCullough in Philadelphia previously handled the account. AutoNation Seeking Promotion Agency ATLANTA-AutoNation USA, a unit of Republic Industries in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., is said to be shopping for a sales promotion agency. The assignment stems from a desire to adopt a new merchandising strategy, sources said. Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos in Boston, AutoNation's lead agency, is not involved in the current review, sources said. Wieden Taps New Global Director on Nike LOS ANGELES-Wieden & Kennedy in Portland, Ore., has hired Ben Kline as its global account director on the Nike account. Kline, formerly a group director at Fallon McElligott in Minneapolis, replaces Jim Ward, who left earlier this summer to head marketing for LucasFilm. Kline served on Fallon's winning pitch team in the United Airlines review and headed that account. Doner Crafts Bradlees Campaign BOSTON-After a series of top management changes, discount retailer Bradlees abruptly shifted the creative portion of its advertising account to W.B. Doner & Co. in Southfield, Mich. Lotas Minard Patton McIver in New York had handled the estimated $10 million account since last July. KSL Media/Northeast in Wellesley, Mass., handles media duties. Frisch's Consolidates at Sive/Y&R CHICAGO-Big Boy franchisee Frisch's Restaurants in Cincinnati consolidated its account at Sive/Young & Rubicam, also in Cincinnati. Media had been handled by Freedman Gibson & White, Cincinnati; creative had been handled on a project basis by Simons Michelson Zieve, Troy, Mich., which continues as agency for Elias Bros. Restaurants, the national Big Boy franchisor. Frisch's spent $2 million in 1996, according to Competitive Media Reporting. Lee Hill Moved Under DraftDirect Wings CHICAGO-Promotions shops Lee Hill here and MCA Marketing Agency, Westport, Conn., will become units of DraftDirect Worldwide. That follows the acquisition last week of Marketing Corp. of America, which owns MCA and Lee Hill, by Interpublic Group of Cos., New York, the parent of Chicago-based DraftDirect, which earlier this month acquired New York advertising agency Adler Boschetto Peebles & Partners. O&M Adds Log Cabin Brand CHICAGO-Ogilvy & Mather here was named agency for the Log Cabin syrup brand, recently acquired from Kraft Foods by Aurora Foods, Columbus, Ohio.
