Launch Breaks Campaign for Casino

DALLAS—Launch Partnership, a division of Temerlin McClain, has created a grand opening campaign for Hollywood Casino Shreveport. Spending for the initial eight-week effort breaking this week in Dallas and East Texas markets is more than $3 million. Three television ads depict outrageous responses to either winning a trip to Shreveport, La., or, alternatively, missing the boat. In one spot, a man throws an airport tantrum when he misses his flight, jumping up and down, screaming into a bystander’s cell phone and drawing the attention of security. On-screen copy states: “Can you imagine getting this upset about missing a flight … to Shreveport?”

Brown Becomes President of JWT Houston

DETROIT—J. Walter Thompson in Detroit is modifying its management structure, adding a new position which will be filled by longtime top executive Steve Brown. Brown has been appointed president of the Detroit diversified group and of JWT’s Houston office. He will also continue in the role of global business director for the Kellogg’s account, which is mainly serviced out of New York. Replacing Brown as general manager in Detroit is Jeff Ewald, who most recently was management director on the agency’s Goodyear Tire business.
