Horizon Adds 3 for Media Chores

Independent Horizon Media said it has added a trio of accounts: Amerifit, FreshPet and Qdoba Mexican Grill.
The work is worth $20-25 million in combined annual media spending, according to Nielsen data and the agency.
Amerifit, a health and wellness firm, spends about $10 million annually in measured media, per Nielsen, and Horizon has begun supporting all of the client’s brands, which include AZO, Culturelle and Estroven. Ads will run on national TV and digital venues as well as in print. The agency declined to discuss Amerifit spending.

FreshPet, a supplier of refrigerated dog food, plans to focus its media spending in national and local TV. Recent ad outlays have been minimal. Spending should touch $7 million this year, Horizon said.
Qdoba, a unit of Jack in the Box, has more than 500 restaurants in 42 states. Media plans being developed for the new year include OOH, digital and spot radio. Qudoba routinely spends $3-5 million annually on ads.

All three assignments were won following reviews that finished up in the closing days of 2009.

Oliver Maletz, evp and managing partner at Horizon, said the wins are key because of the entrepreneurial nature of the clients involved — and because they should help the shop continue its momentum following its late-year addition of Crown Imports.

Horizon added the $80 million media assignment of Crown in November. That business includes Corona Extra, Corona Light, Model Especial, Negra Modelo, Pacifico, St. Pauli Girl and Tsingtao.
