Laurel & Hardy are alive and eating well in Sizzler’s latest ad campaign from Dailey & Associates/L.A. The pair (actually two impersonators who even Stan Laurel & Oliver Hardy OKed to carry on the tradition) act as Sizzler’s new spokesduo, an attempt to combine an ‘image’ message with the ‘value’ strategy typical to mid-priced restaurants. The classic characters appear in five ads, fumbling through comic situations that eventually lead to a meal at Sizzler. With the new spokespersons and a new ‘Kids Bar,’ the chain hopes to play up its positioning as a family restaurant.
