Hall Makes His Strategic Move: Leaves Kragie/Newell To Open Consultancy

Scott Hall is leaving his post as executive vice president and chief strategic officer at Kragie/Newell in Des Moines, Iowa, to open a strategic marketing consultancy.
The Hall Group will officially open July 20, with offices in St. Louis and Kansas City, Mo., two markets with which Hall is familiar from past career stops. Before joining Kragie/Newell in 1995, he had been general manager of Valentine Radford Advertising in Kansas City, and earlier had worked at D’Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles in St. Louis.
Hall said the move to strike out on his own will allow him to concentrate on strategic brand and promotional planning with marketers and agencies (including Kragie/Newell as a charter client).
“We’ll focus on small to midsized agencies that have one or two blue-chip clients but don’t want to dedicate a full-fledged, full-time ‘thinking resource’ to the business,” Hall said. “We can come in and help get a new product or new program off the ground.”
Kragie/Newell’s recent merger with The Integer Group in Golden, Colo., has strengthened the agency, allowing it to recruit people and clients nationally. “For personal and business reasons, this is the time to make this move,” Hall said. — Scott Hume
