CHICAGO Leo Burnett here has promoted Pat Goggin to director of global growth for the worldwide network, according to the shop.

Goggin, 39, was most recently an account director at the agency.

In his new role, Goggin will work on new business initiatives for the global network and its Arc Worldwide subsidiary. He will report to Tom Dudreck, the agency’s president of multinational accounts.

“Pat has many years of international experience under his belt,” said Dudreck in a statement . . . His client work and general management experience in Africa, Asia and Europe make him the right person to focus on the development of our multinational clients.”

Goggin is a 15-year veteran of the Publicis Groupe agency. After joining Burnett in 1991 and working on some of its showcase brands, including Kellogg, Philip Morris and McDonald’s, Goggin transferred to Johannesburg, South Africa, to work on the agency’s Coca-Cola account.

In 2001, he was named managing director of Burnett’s office in Seoul, South Korea, and in 2004 he moved to Frankfurt, Germany, to become regional director for the agency’s Europe, Middle East and Africa region. Last year, he helped the agency land Samsung’s $400 million global account.
