Forrester Acquires JupiterResearch

Forrester Research announced Thursday (July 31) it has acquired JupiterResearch, LLC and its parent company, JUPR Holdings from MCG Capital Corp. for $23 million cash. The deal combines two well-known independent research brands used by marketing and strategy executives to understand consumer and business trends in various industries.

Complementing Forrester’s syndicated business model, JupiterResearch will become part of Forrester’s Marketing & Strategy Client Group, which contributed $46.4 million to Forrester’s total 2007 revenue of $212 million. JupiterResearch has 83 employees and revenue of about $14 million in 2007.

“Acquiring JupiterResearch is a significant step in our growth strategy for the Marketing & Strategy segment of Forrester’s business,” said Dennis van Lingen, managing director of Forrester’s Marketing & Strategy Client Group.
