Ford Ads in Interactive Gemstar-TV Guide

In the largest ad deal yet for its interactive program guide, Gemstar-TV Guide has signed an 18-month advertising agreement with the Ford Division of the Ford Motor Co. and its agency J. Walter Thompson, Detroit. The agreement, which will run from second quarter 2001 through third quarter 2002, will make Ford the first long-term automotive category advertiser on Gemstar-TV Guide’s IPG platform.

Currently reaching more than 12 million U.S. homes, Gemstar-TV Guide’s IPG platform includes the TV Guide Interactive SM system, an onscreen digital cable guide provided to multichannel video programming distributors, and the GUIDE Plus+ system, which is an onscreen guide built directly into television sets and VCRs.
