Euro RSCG Taps Dan

NEW YORK Havas’ Euro RSCG said it has named Avi Dan its first global executive director.

Dan, 53, joins the agency effective Nov. 28. He was most recently at WPP Group’s Berlin Cameron United, serving for the past five years as a managing partner and new business director. He left the agency in August.

Dan will report to Euro RSCG worldwide CEO David Jones, who said in a statement: “Avi has a strong following. He is a proven leader and a seasoned globalist. His passion and entrepreneurial thinking exemplifies the spirit of Euro RSCG.”

Dan will work closely with Jones and Euro RSCG’s regional directors and CEOs in its 233 offices. “He will also ensure that existing clients of Euro RSCG have access to all of our services, and will drive innovation initiatives that will help meet our objective of being the best communication firm in the world,” Jones said.

While Dan was at Berlin Cameron in New York, the agency won the Coke Classic, Pfizer’s Zyrtec, White Wave Silk Soy Milk, Pernod Ricard’s The Glenlivet, Samsung and The Wall Street Journal accounts.

Last month, the shop lost Coke and Samsung.

“[Euro RSCG] is an agency that invented the model for a 21st century agency in the 20th century,” Dan said in a statement. “It was the first to create a workable fully integrated business model way before it became fashionable.”

During his career, Dan has held management positions at Young & Rubicam, Saatchi & Saatchi and D’Arcy Masius Benton and Bowles. Accounts he has worked on include Procter & Gamble’s Crest, Pampers and Charmin brands and Colgate-Palmolive.

Euro RSCG’s global clients include Airbus, Air France, Danone Group, LVMH Louis Vuitton, MCI, Polaroid, PSA Peugeot Citroen and Reckitt Benckiser.
