Goldberg Moser O’Neill/S.F. wanted an old dog with a pensive and forlorn look for its new Black Angus spots. The agency creatives knew they had what they wanted when they found Popeye, a 12-year-old Hollywood veteran whose past credits include the movie Back to the Future. The only problem was that Popeye was so low key, it took a hot dog on a stick to get him to make the necessary head movements for the commercial.
