Copywriter Could Always Find Humor in Ads
SAN FRANCISCO–Benjamin Joseph White, award-winning copywriter for DDB Needham here, died on Nov. 10 of liver cancer. He was 51.
In his 30-year advertising career, White created successful campaigns for well-known household products such as Clorox Bleach, Pine-Sol and Orville Redenbacher Popcorn. His numerous awards include a Clio, which he earned for a National Potato Promotion Board campaign.
“Ben’s success as a copywriter was due in large part to his ability to find humor in all things and make us laugh,” said Ken Dudwick, DDB’s art director and a longtime friend and colleague of White.
