LOS ANGELES Dairy Queen has awarded advertising for its $5 million Northwest regional account to WongDoody, the client confirmed.

The independent shop in Seattle was chosen over Interpublic Group’s Sedgwick Rd. in Seattle; indies Bradshaw Advertising and Gard & Gerber, both in Portland, Ore.; and Brighton Jordan, an unaffiliated agency in St. Louis.

The assignment includes media planning, buying and promotions for Dairy Queen’s 300 restaurants in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Utah.

Grey Global Group’s Grey in Los Angeles last handled the Northwest advertising account.
