CUTTING TO THE CHASE

There was a full house at the dinner honoring DDB Needham president Andy Berlin last week. But two who didn’t show at the New York shindig to benefit B’nai B’rith were former partners, Jeffrey Goodby and Rich Silverstein of San Francisco shop Goodby, Berlin & Silverstein. Pat Fallon, a longtime pal and one of the luminaries who roasted Berlin, couldn’t resist a reference to the partners’ split last year. Fallon said Goodby once told him if you cut Andy, you’d find a heart of gold .
