Cramer-Krasselt Takes CareerBuilder

CHICAGO — CareerBuilder has selected Cramer-Krasselt for its $15-20 million account, following a review, the client said.

The Chicago shop bested Bernstein-Rein and Barkley Evergreen & Partners, both in Kansas City, Mo., and MARC USA, Chicago. Doner, Southfield, Mich., dropped out of the review last week.

Incumbent The Martin Agency, Richmond, Va., which won the Reston, Va., online job and recruitment business in 1999, was invited to participate in the review but declined.

C-K will handle brand strategy, creative and media planning, said Courtnie Willard, director of advertising.

CareerBuilder selected C-K based on the agency “factual presentation based on real research of our customers and their logical strategy.”

Work on the account will begin immediately, Willard said. A new campaign is slated to break late August or early September.

Broadcast buying is handled by American Media Services, Wasington, D.C.

CareerBuilder is jointly owned by Knight Ridder and the Tribune Co., and recently moved its headquarters to Chicago.

Hasan Ramusevic of Hasan & Co. in Raleigh, N.C., was the consultant for the review.
