Beer advertisers in the United States can, for the first time this year, compete in their own creative competition. The Beer Cup Advertising and Design Awards, sponsored by the Association of Brewers in Boulder, Colo., will judge advertising, design and sales promotion efforts that appeared in 1996 and 1997 for both national companies and microbreweries.
The winners will be announced at the Great American Beer Fest to be held in Denver, Oct. 2-4. The judges have not yet been named.
A board of directors that includes Hal Riney, chairman of Hal Riney & Partners, and beer industry executives, such as Miller Brewing’s Jack Rooney, is helping to promote the contest.
