BaylessCronin Picks Up Discovery Work

ATLANTA — Omnicom’s BaylessCronin has won a creative assignment from The Discovery Channel, the client confirmed.

The Atlanta shop, a unit of Merkley Newman Harty Partners, New York, bested three other undisclosed shops, according to sources. Billings are undisclosed. BC will develop television and print ads to support specials and series throughout 2003. The agreement marks the first formal relationship the Bethesda, Md., client has forged with an outside agency, according to Chris Miller, client vice president of marketing. The agency’s first work is to brand Discovery’s newest show, Quest, an initiative that both funds and chronicles projects spearheaded by scientists and explorers.
