Axon Taps Thomas Marketing

BOSTON Axon Sleep Research Laboratories has called on independent Thomas Marketing for a variety of strategic market planning and research assignments, according to Tom Lanen, president of the marketing agency.

The account was previously unassigned.

“We’ve brought on Thomas Marketing to help us define and create what is for all intents and purposes a new market category: science-based sleep improvement consumer electronics,” said Axon director of business development Jason Donahue.

The Providence, R.I.-based client launched at the end of 2003. The company is working toward the introduction of SleepSmart, a product that monitors sleep cycles and wakes the user at the most opportune time, preventing grogginess.

Billings were undisclosed.

The Hopkinton, Mass., agency has handled assignments for a mix of business and consumer clients such as Allied Domecq, Eastern Rainbow, Temple Barker & Sloan and Velcro Industries.
