LOS ANGELES–An estimated $10 million Arco Products Co. ad campaign, created by Rubin Postaer and Associates in Santa Monica, Calif., features actual Arco employees and lampoons TV news bulletins.





The message of the quirky campaign, breaking today in California and Arizona, is that gasoline that is less expensive than its competitors is not necessarily of lower quality.





The first two spots begin with arty shots of Arco’s Carson, Calif., refinery, and a narrator giving dramatic descriptions of the quality of the fuel.
