NEW YORK — America Online has appointed Gerald Sokol, Jr., svp and gm of international operations, to the new post of executive vice president of AOL International. The company has also promoted Greg Consiglio, vp of AOL International, to senior vice president of that division.

The management moves are a part of an overall reorganization that was initiated last month by new AOL chairman and CEO Jon Miller [IQ Daily Briefing, Sept. 12]. The restructuring is meant to advance key priorities of the AOL Time Warner Internet unit, one of which is making its international operations profitable.
