NEW YORK Omnicom Group’s TBWA\Chiat\Day said it has landed American Century’s advertising account. Estimated billings are $20 million.

The agency here bested WPP Group’s Grey and independent Wieden + Kennedy, both also in New York, after final pitches earlier this month.

The incumbent, independent RPA in Santa Monica, Calif., did not defend. No consultant was used to guide the review.

“TBWA showed us that they understood our business and our customer, and that their integrated approach to this segment was fresh and different,” said Catherine Bernard, client vp of corporate advertising, in a statement.
