NEW YORK The Alliance for Downtown New York has signed Landis Advertising, Port Washing-ton, to handle its campaign to promote tourism in lower Manhattan. Lois/EJL, New York, was named the ad agency for Decibel Instruments, Hayward, Calif. The shop will introduce the client's new hearing aid in early 1998. Annual billings are estimated at $12 million. Erin/Edwards Communications, Glen Head, has created consumer and retail print promotional materials for 1-800-Flowers' "Pink Ribbon Bouquet" campaign, which supports Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Franklin Spier, an agency specializing in the book publishing industry, has relocated from 650 First Ave. to larger quarters at 460 Park Ave. South in New York. Con Edison Solutions, a subsidiary of Con Edison in White Plains, has assigned its advertising, direct marketing, public relations and promotional account to The Yellowstone Group in Irvington. Sisman Design, New York, has completed the 1997 holiday ad campaign for Sony Style, an entertainment electronics store in Manhattan. Outdoor and print media executions are appearing in the New York area in November and December. MoneyGram Payment Systems has awarded its creative and media planning and buying account to MacNamara, Stewart, Saperstein in New York. The Saddle Brook, N.J.-based client spent more than $4 million on advertising in the first seven months of 1997, according to Competitive Media Reporting. Ciociola & Co., New York, was assigned the estimated $1-2 million account of Advanced Systems Concepts, Hoboken, N.J. Ciociola will promote ASC's XLNT 2.0 scripting and command language software for Windows NT in a print campaign that breaks early next year. RocketScience Creative in New York has picked up two new clients: Healthy Home Environmental, Suffern, and Manhattan's Chelsea Market. Billings are estimated at $1 million for each account. Lotas Minard Patton McIver in New York has acquired the estimated $1 million account of New York University's Leonard N. Stern School of Business. The New York office of D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles will launch a $40 million advertising campaign to promote Procter & Gamble's new Crest Extra Whitening toothpaste in January. CONNECTICUT Ben Marketing Group, Stamford, has created Pepperidge Farm's first national multibrand holiday event. The consumer promotion, "Put Together the Perfect Holiday Meal With Pepperidge Farm," spans November and December. Pappas MacDonnell, Southport, was named agency of record by ITI Marketing Services, a telecommunications firm in Omaha, Neb. The agency will create and manage an integrated marketing communications program for the client. NEW JERSEY International medical equipment manufacturer Arjo, whose U.S. division is headquartered in Morton Grove, Ill., has designated Hall Decker McKibbin, Parsippany, its agency of record. HDM and its Chicago office have already executed two product launch campaigns, which included advertising, direct mail and trade show components. Coscan Brookfield Homes has selected Oxford Communications, Lambertville, to implement a consumer public relations program for its residential communities in Maryland and Virginia. The Harrington Group, Morristown, has added Life Medical Sciences, Edison, to its client roster. The company develops biopharmaceutical and medical products for therapeutic applications. Ricci Associates, a 15-year-old advertising and promotional agency located in Marlton, has established a second office at 122 East 42nd St., New York, N.Y. 10168; (212) 661-3268. Two Mexican companies, long-distance telco Operadora Protel and chicken supplier Pilgrim's Pride, whose parent company is headquartered in Texas, have named Paramus-based Einson Freeman's Mexico City office as their promotional and marketing shop. Einson Freeman sister agency J. Walter Thompson de Mexico handles Operadora Protel's advertising and direct response programs. Ricola USA, the American subsidiary of Ricola AG Ltd. in Laufen, Switzerland, has appointed Maxwell Marketing, Morris Plains, its advertising agency in the U.S. The client makes and markets herbal cough drops, lozenges and mints. PENNSYLVANIA Poppe Tyson in Pittsburgh won four prizes at the 14th annual Healthcare Advertis-ing Awards, including gold medal and best of show honors, for television, radio and newspaper work it created for UPMC Health System.
