Saatchi & Saatchi Kid Connection won three awards at the Golden Marble Awards, held on Sept. 20 in New York. The awards recognize youth advertising and promotions. The New York-based agency, which specializes in youth marketing, received the first-place award for its TV commercial “Tribes” for Kodak Max one-time-use cameras. Saatchi & Saatchi Kid Connection garnered second place for “Lizard Love,” a spot it created for General Mills’ Fruit by the Foot. The shop’s Fruit Roll Ups commercial, “Taste Test,” was honored as the ninth-place winner. That spot was also created for General Mills. The shop is a unit of Saatchi & Saatchi, New York.

Rotter•kantor launched a new division, rotter•kantor design, which will create branding and communications programs for clients. The new unit, which will work with a number of the communications company’s existing clients, was named to create the store signage, logos and graphics for Tattoo, a Toronto-based footwear and apparel chain that debuted in malls last month. Rotter•kantor is based in New York.

Harrison Leifer DiMarco added three accounts: Intellidyne, in Glen Cove, which manufactures IntelliCon products for the heating, air-conditioning and commercial-refrigeration markets; Banfi Vintners, a wine importer in Old Brookville; and Kool er Aire, in Upper Saddle River, N.J., which manufactures a portable air-conditioning device designed to work with Igloo cooler products. The Rockville Centre-based branding agency is responsible for positioning Intellidyne in the energy-conservation market via marketing, advertising, public relations and trade show support. Banfi hired HLD to reintroduce the Stonehaven brand in the U.S. through a mix of trade and consumer advertising, public relations and marketing initiatives. In addition, the shop was tapped to launch KoolerAire; HLD’s duties for this client include package design and marketing initiatives targeted at consumer audiences.

A sign for Hill’s Science Diet will go up at 1600 Broadway in New York on Oct. 15. The ad space is owned and represented by Sherwood Outdoor in New York. The sign will be located on the building’s 48th Street side and will also be visible from Seventh Avenue. The client is based in Topeka, Kansas.

Golden Retirement Resources tapped New York-based agency Ciociola & Co. Advertising to handle a branding and advertising assignment for RetireMentor, a patent-pending, retirement-income planning and management system. Ciociola & Co. is based in New York.

Oink Ink produced a radio commercial for Southwest Airlines and its advertising agency, GSD&M in Austin, Texas, that was selected to appear in Advertising Annual 43, the December 2002 issue of Communication Arts. Oink Ink has offices in New York and Santa Monica, Calif.

New Orleans-based Ruth’s Chris Steak House named Pedone & Partners its advertising agency, without a review. The New York-based shop is responsible for the restaurant chain’s creative, media planning and buying, collateral, Web site design and public relations. Pedone & Part ners is based in New York.

The Tucker Partnership in New York acquired promotion-marketing agency Carlson Draddy & Associates. The latter, which moved from Westport, Conn., to New York, specialized in consumer and trade promotions, event marketing, marketing to kids and tweens, and sweepstakes. The new entity, a unit of The Tucker Partnership, will be known as Tucker Draddy Kane & Partners. The combined companies have 55 employees and claim billings of $160 million.

Margeotes | Fertitta + Partners created a launch campaign for Türi, an Estonian vodka that is imported by the Casdon Importing Co., a d/b/a of Bacardi U.S.A. The effort, which broke in September books, depicts traditional Estonian proverbs with paper sculptures by artist Jeff Nishinaka. Photographer Craig Cutler shot the ads. The work is running in GQ, Vanity Fair, Details, Wallpaper and regional publications. New York-based Margeotes also created the product’s package design, including the label and bottle.

NEW JERSEY
David Chapman, president of Thomas Ferguson Associates, will be a speaker at the Massachusetts Health Data Consortium’s 16th Annual Corporate Healthcare Conference: HealthMart 2002, “Investing in Information,” which will be held on Oct. 10 in Boston. Parsippany-based TFA is the advertising and promotions agency of Com monHealth, a healthcare-communications network that is part of WPP Group. Chapman is scheduled to speak during a panel discussion titled “How Physicians & Consumers Get Information on Medications.” Separately, TFA was honored by Cancer Care for its charitable advertising support at an ceremony held on Sept. 18 in New York. Cancer Care is a New York-based nonprofit organization that provides free support services to cancer patients.

Design and medical-communications company Photosound Communications relocated its New Jersey office to 700 Alexander Park in Princeton. Photosound, which specializes in the pharmaceutical and medical industries, also has an office in Stansted, England.

PENNSYLVANIA
Insight Interactive Group launched Knowledge Reporting Services, a proprietary analysis service that allows marketing and brand managers to measure the success of their online marketing efforts. Insight Interactive is a Philadelphia-based interactive-marketing agency.

SFGT broke an ad campaign for First Federal, a division of Northeast Pennsylvania Financial Corp., on Sept. 23. The effort, the Philadelphia-based agency’s first work for the Hazleton-based client, includes TV, print, point-of-purchase and outdoor ads. The campaign, which is tagged, “Put a great bank behind you,” is running locally in northeastern and central Pennsylvania.

Barton Gilanelli & Associates was hired to increase the brand awareness of Cal Spas via an international public relations program. The client is a Pomona, Calif.-based manufacturer of home-resort products such as hot tubs, saunas, billiard tables and gazebos. Barton Gilanelli is a Philadelphia-based advertising and public relations agency.

Roska Direct debuted its Roska e-Marketing Suite of proprietary database and customer-relationship-marketing technol ogies, such as database-development ware housing, target-audience selection, e-mail delivery, campaign tracking and real-time campaign reporting. Roska Direct is a Montgomeryville-based direct response advertising agency.
