WESTERN ARIZONA Select Artists Associates has named E.B. Lane & Associates in Phoenix its agency for advertising and promotion of Bank One Ballpark. Walter B. Smith and Mark W. Placenti have formed Whole Brain Films in Phoenix, a new production company offering full services, including TV commercials and corporate communication. Tieken Design & Creative Services of Phoenix has been retained by MicroSi, a manufacturer of chemicals for the semiconductor industry. In addition, Rocky Point Beer Co. of Cave Creek has selected the agency to develop a brand identity for its new line of microbrews. COLORADO Sterling Chemicals Holdings has awarded a contract to Carl Thompson Associates of Boulder for a national investor relations and media relations program. HAWAII Milici Valenti Ng Pack Advertising of Honolulu recently completed a TV spot for McDonald's of Hawaii. The commercial promotes the McTeri burger, a version of the Hawaiian sandwich. NEVADA Sidra Kain Advertising & Public Relations (SKA) and Jeff Keizer Design (JKD), both in Las Vegas, have combined to handle the media and advertising accounts for Leroy's Horse and Sports Place. OREGON Marketing Clarity, Portland, a new subsidiary of Lee Enterprises, has chosen DVA Advertising in Bend as its agency of record. Portland-based TV Tyee and Tyee Productions, which formerly operated as separate entities, will be merged into one organization called The Tyee Group. SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA Irvine Spectrum Center in Irvine has tapped BDS Marketing, also in Irvine, to help build awareness and generate traffic for the development's facilities among local residents, tourists and commuters who work in the area. The McRae Agency in San Diego has been retained by Red Bull North America to provide public relations services for the U.S. launch of Red Bull, an energy drink product. Stoorza, Ziegaus & Metzger in San Diego has been selected by Presidium as its advertising and marketing communications firm. Presidium is a risk management services company. KSL Media in Los Angeles has taken on media marketing for The Miller Group in Santa Monica. The Miller Group's clients include Annabelle Candy Company, University of Redlands, Johnson Pet-Dor and Royal Floor Mats. Family Restaurants Inc. has selected Morgan Marketing & Public Relations of Irvine to create and implement the debut of El Torito's new regional specialties. J2 Marketing Services in Brea has added two new accounts: Patriot Sensors & Controls Corp. in Simi Valley and Targa Energy Company in La Mirada. Colby Effler & Partners in Santa Monica has been chosen as agency of record for California Pizza Kitchen. Pacific Communications in Costa Mesa has been named agency of record for the global launch of Dermagrapht, a product created by the La Jolla-based joint venture Advanced Tissue Sciences/Smith & Nephew. The shop has also been named agency of record for the launch of Accumetrics in San Diego. Hayes Martin Associates in Costa Mesa has been chosen by Continental Homes to provide all marketing and communications for its new master-planned community, Rancho Carrillo. Cayman Shores Development will employ the marketing services of InterCommunicationsInc, Newport Beach, for its new real estate development, West Indian Club. Les Goldberg Public Relations of Santa Ana has landed three new accounts: Global Capital Marketing, ErgoTech International and The Software Labs. Vision Solutions, Inc. has named Schraff Group of Newport Beach its advertising and promotions agency worldwide. The client develops, markets and supports a family of data replication software products. The Bohle Company in Los Angeles has signed four new clients: SyQuest Technology, a removable data storage manufacturer; Epoch Internet, a backbone Net services company; interactive entertainment provider E-On; and Health Care Credit, a supplemental healthcare benefits provider. The Lawson Marketing Group in Newport Beach has added three new companies to its client base: McMurray-Stern, Forever Green Art and The Structured Settlements Company. The Roxburgh Agency in Costa Mesa has joined forces with Brookfield Homes to provide strategic marketing campaigns for several of the homebuilder's new Southern California communities. Bailey/Gardiner Creative Communications of San Diego has added several new clients: Yellow Cab of San Diego, Horton Plaza's Gingerbread Lane Holiday Programs and El Cortƒz. Idaho-based Mountain West Colorado Aggregate has retained WHaM Communications of Seattle to spearhead its national public relations program.
