ILLINOIS Kurtzman Slavin Communications in Northfield was named agency of record for CampusCash, an instant loan company. The agency will provide marketing strategies, brand development, broadcast and print advertising, graphic design, Internet site development and public relations. The International Inline Skating Association hired Matrix Partners, Chicago, to solicit sponsors for its National Skate Patrol program, which has 700 members in 21 cities. Turtle Wax named Wheatley Blair, Chicago, its national public relations and new-production introductions agency. LoBue Associates, an international consulting firm, hired Dragonette, Chicago, for public relations and marketing services. INDIANA Fire House in Evansville was named agency of record for Kimball Office Group, a marketer of office furniture under the Harpers, National and Kimball brands. CRE Marcom in Indianapolis was selected by the Illinois Power unit of Illinova to handle marketing for the launch of Novation Neighborhood Network, the company's interactive service. Advertising Visions in Indianapolis was named agency of record for four new clients: the Center for Advanced Vein Care and Safari Spas, both in Indianapolis; Corbeil International, a school bus manufacturer in Quebec; and Rego-Fix Tool Corp. in Switzerland. Riverview Hospital selected Communico in Indianapolis to provide marketing communications services, including creative development, media planning and buying and account planning. Marketing Unlimited in Indianapolis was selected as agency of record by two new clients: Family Auto Group and The Plumbing Store. Bonsib, Indianapolis, has agency of record relationships with two new clients: Lutheran Hospital of Indiana and Indiana University-Purdue University at Fort Wayne. IOWA Erickson-McClellan in Des Moines was selected as marketing communications agency of record for The Civic Music Association, a local nonprofit organization. MICHIGAN Weaver Ladd Harries McGown in Troy and Smith-Winchester in Southfield will merge their operations, effective July 1. The merged agency will retain the Smith-Winchester name and be housed in that agency's offices. The Berline Group in Bloomfield Hills was named agency of record for Systems Technology International, a professional services and software development company, and for CPI Products, a designer and manufacturer of robotic end-arm assemblies. Additionally, the agency was hired by the Detroit Auto Dealers Association to design, manage and promote the organization's Internet site. The Empire State Capital KFC Co-op chose Alan Frank & Associates, Bloomfield Hills, to handle local marketing and advertising for its KFC restaurants in Albany, Schenectady and Troy, N.Y. MINNESOTA Risdall Lenihan, New Brighton, was named agency of record for The TPA, an administrator of self-funded health plans. Additionally, the agency has been given project assignments from Verdant Brands, a distributor of lawn and garden products; Thern, Inc., a manufacturer of winches and hoists; the Integrity division of Marvin Windows & Doors; and American Med Tech, a healthcare products company. Acorn Window Systems selected Stap & Co., Kalamazoo, as its agency of record. The agency will be responsible for brand development and management, marketing, advertising and public relations. MISSOURI Dimac Marketing in St. Louis has added Heinz Pet Products to its client roster. The agency will handle the company's first nationwide direct mail test program for its line of Pup-Peroni dog treats. Tretter Group in St. Louis has been hired by Radisson Hotel & Suites St. Louis Downtown to provide marketing counsel for the introduction of the newly renovated and remodeled hotel. The University of Kansas Advertising Club named Kuhn & Wittenborn Advertising in Kansas City its agency of the year. The agency is an active sponsor of the ad club and has organized a mentoring program that provides counseling to U of K students in all areas of advertising. Maring, Kanefield & Weissman, St. Louis, was chosen as agency of record for NewGround Resources, which provides design, merchandising and training for financial institutions. The agency will handle a corporate identity program, trade advertising, direct mail, collateral and Internet site development. Catbird Creative Group in Kansas City was chosen by Harrah's North Kansas City to handle creative development projects for the casino. Schupp Co. in St. Louis was named agency of record for Koplar Interactive Systems International. The agency will develop TV, print and radio advertising to support the introduction of the client's InTOUCH TV technology, which allows for interactive programming, shopping and communications for subscribers. NEBRASKA Zippo Manufacturing Co. has chosen Swanson Russell Associates in Lincoln to plan and implement a marketing campaign for its windproof lighters directed to outdoor recreation participants. OHIO Akron-based Smiley/Hanchulak has opened an office in Columbus, where it intends to seek additional clients. Benghiat Marketing & Communications in Orange Village was hired by MSO Worldwide, a healthcare management company, to develop a corporate identity program. The Laurer Markin Group in Maumee was named agency of record for ASC and its three automotive specialty business units: Aeromotive Services Co., Automobile Specialty Co. and American Sunroof Co. WISCONSIN Sprecher Bertalot & Co., Milwaukee, was chosen as marketing communications partner for West Allis Savings Bank. The agency will provide all advertising and marketing communications for the bank. Image Makers Advertising in Waukesha was named agency of record for Stone Dimensions, a stone fabrication company that specializes in granite for residential and commercial applications. DuFour Advertising, Sheboygan, was named agency for Padanaplast USA, a plastics compounding company.
