FLORIDA Husk Jennings Advertising in Jacksonville has been named agency for Energizer Power System, a division of Eveready Battery Co. that provides primary and rechargeable power solutions to original equipment manufacturers. Tampa agency Peak Barr Petralia Biety has changed its name to Peak/Biety. Willman & Co. in Jacksonville has been identified as one of the fastest growing local firms in the Jacksonville Business Journal's Business Journal 50 1998. The shop, ranked No. 11, was the area's only ad agency to make the list. Those considered had to be privately held companies, in operation since 1994, posted revenues of at least $1 million and be located in the Jacksonville metro area. Walker/Fitzgibbon Television recently completed work on a 10-minute promotional video for the new cruise liner in the Carnival Cruise Line fleet, the Triumph. The company was hired to handle the project by Carnival's advertising agency, Cooper HMS & Partners in Miami. GEORGIA Buffington/Rizzo Advertising in Atlanta has been named to handle MediaVehicles. The client, also based in Atlanta, is a truckside advertising company owned by GE Capital, leasing space on the sides of truck fleets throughout the U.S. Hood & Associates Advertising in Atlanta has added two new accounts. The business acquisitions are Abaco, an international software developer, and Fortis Family, a pre-need insurance company. Communications 21, a marketing and public relations concern headquartered in Atlanta, has added four new pieces of business recently: Miller Ray Healey & Houser, an accounting firm; amplified.com, an Internet-based music company; collateral work for BellSouth International's Marketing Group; and public relations and planning for gelateria parmalat's first domestic opening. Hope-Beckham in Atlanta has acquired eight new accounts. The agency is now representing Family Ice Enterprises, the Aloha Racing Foundation of the Waikiki Yacht Club, USA Today's Owner's Box fantasy sports information Web site, Third Millenium Communications, Net Placement Corp., Sprint PCS, Miller & Martin and the USA Track & Field Federation. SuperModel Music Agency in Atlanta has completed several projects, including two for Home Box Office, one for Match, Atlanta and another for WestWayne, Atlanta. The Atlanta office of Weber Public Relations Worldwide (formerly Julie Davis Associates) has been awarded the public relations business of Fidelity & Co. The Atlanta-based client is a mortgage and private banking company that offers a variety of financial services. After a review of 12 shops, the global health division of Manning, Selvage & Lee in Atlanta was hired by Kaiser Permanente of Oakland, Calif., to provide the public relations component of a new branding campaign over the next 12 months. KENTUCKY Don Van Erden has opened The Van Erden Group in Lexington. The advertising agency will cater to the communications needs of midsized clients. MARYLAND Shugoll Research in Bethesda has been honored by the Business Committee for the Arts. The Maryland company was recognized for its long-term support program that assists various arts organizations expand outreach projects, increase creative opportunities for children and build public awareness. NORTH CAROLINA Corder Philips & Wilson in Charlotte has been named agency for South Tryon Square. Scheduled for completion in 1999,the complex will encompass retail, office, parking and hotel components. SOUTH CAROLINA Leslie Advertising in Greenville won an award from the Travel Industry of America and the National Council of State Tourism Directors. The agency was recognized for its work on the South Carolina Public/Private Partnership Program, which it developed for its South Carolina Parks, Recreation and Tourism client. Alligator Adventure has chosen Brandon Advertising in Myrtle Beach as its public relations agency. The client is a nature park that showcases reptiles and amphibians. TENNESSEE Catherines Stores Corp. has assigned public relation chores to Archer/Malmo in Memphis. The Memphis-based retailer, which specializes in clothes for the full-figured woman, has 440 stores in 40 states. TEXAS DDB Needham Dallas has launched the latest television commercial in an ongoing series for athletic shoe and apparel retailer FootAction USA, based in Irving. The 30-second spot features Terrell Davis of the Denver Broncos. DiBaggio Design in San Antonio has developed a holiday promotion for The Gambrinus Co.'s Corona Extra and Corona Light beers. Point-of-purchase displays, themed "O'Tannenpalm," feature visuals of a palm tree decorated with colored lights. Lois/EJL of Chicago developed television spots supporting the promotion that will break in December. Gilbreath Communications has relocated to new office quarters at 15995 North Barkers Landing, Suite 100, Houston 77079. Telephone: (281) 649-9595, fax: (281) 752-6899. The 4,700-square-foot space is the largest the company will occupy since its founding in 1990. Separately, Gilbreath was selected to provide advertising and public relations support for the Houston Area Urban League. Patrick Henry Creative Promotions in Houston was hired to develop national on-premise promotions for Allied Domecq's Kahlœa liqueur and Sauza tequila. Gannett Advertising & Marketing of Dallas has earned a national finalist designation at the Vision Awards for its Towne Square Furniture corporate video. Towne is a furniture manufacturer in Hillsboro. The McIntosh Advertising and Design House in Austin recently completed a second round of product support assignments for Jato Technologies, a privately held semiconductor company in Austin. The agency also developed internal print materials for the merchant banking group of Banc One Capital Markets in Columbus, Ohio. Aries Productions in Arlington worked with Witherspoon & Associates of Fort Worth on a production shoot for two upcoming TV spots for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. The ads, themed "What do you want to know?" will air on network and cable programming. Harwood Marketing Group in Dallas was recently named marketing, public relations and creative partner for Blanks Color Imaging of Dallas. Blanks is a full-service graphics communications company offering pre-press, printing, bindery and digital photography studio services. Stuart Bacon in Fort Worth has been hired as public relations agency of record for Fort Worth-based Tensor Information Systems. The shop will manage all public relations activities, including media relations, special event planning and writing. Regian & Wilson Advertising & Public Relations in Dallas was appointed agency of record for the Texas Water Foundation. Initial work for the nonprofit group includes logo design and a statewide awareness campaign. VIRGINIA CommuniQue Marketing in Richmond has been appointed agency by Allergan Inc. for its M.D. Forte and Aqua Glycolic skin care lines. The agency already handles another of the client's products, M.D. Formulations. The new marketing assignments will bring total billings from Allergan to more than $4 million. WASHINGTON, D.C. Davis & Co. has added another community bank to its list of financial clients. The latest account to be added to the shop's business roster is The Middleburg Bank in Northern, Va.
