NEVADA Quillin & Co. Advertising and Public Relations in Las Vegas was retained by Southwest Communities. The agency will develop marketing, advertising and public relations strategies for Lynbrook, the developer's new planned community. NORTHERN CALIFORNIA Doremus and Co. in San Francisco recently landed Kingston Technology's ad account. The win is expected to double the agency's billings. Rathje Chadwick & Co. in San Francisco was chosen by R. Torre & Co., marketer of Torani Italian syrups, to handle advertising and promotions. OREGON Premier Heart selected Eisenberg, Inc., a marketing communications firm in Portland, as its agency of record. Cobblestone Golf Group, Del Mar, Calif., retained The Mandala Agency in Bend to develop a brand-building strategy for its national golf course network. Livengood & Co., Portland, was named agency of record for eight Dairy Queen marketing groups in the Northwest. Obie Media Corp. in Eugene was awarded the advertising contract for the Transit Division of the city of Yakima, Wash. SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA CB Richard Ellis, headquartered in Los Angeles, awarded its $4-5 million media planning and buying account to Horizon Media. The agency, with offices in New York and Los Angeles, will handle media buying for business magazines, trade publications and international media. Drasnin Communications in San Diego added the San Diego Fluoridation Coalition to its list of clients. D Zone Studio and Hal Apple Design, two strategic design and marketing communications firms in Los Angeles, have merged. Vista Media in Los Angeles donated 100 billboards to the American Red Cross Blood Services' Southern California Region. Aldrich and Associates in Long Beach was named public relations counsel for Pronounced Technologies in Van Nuys. Castle Communications in San Diego has been hired to publicize the ninth annual BIG awards. The awards, produced by Building Industry Association of San Diego County, salutes those who work behind the scenes in the homebuilding industry. Salisbury Figueroa in San Diego was hired by Ismƒca USA to handle advertising and public relations. Ismƒca produces automated assembly and inspection equipment for various industries. The Gable Group in San Diego was selected by Holocomm Systems for a media and public relations program. Holocomm develops communications cabling distribution systems for open office environments. The Sutherland Agency in San Diego was retained by Autosplice, also in San Diego, to design a global advertising strategy. The campaign will focus on the electronic systems manufacturer's assembly process and worldwide manufacturing capabilities. The Diversified Agency Services division of Omnicom Group acquired Forsythe Marcelli Johnson in Newport Beach. Media Dimensions, a full-service marketing communications agency, announced the move of its Orange County branch office to Costa Mesa, where it will share space with Back Bay Communications. The Pollack PR Marketing Group, a media specialist public relations firm in Culver City, has signed three new clients: Internet Outfitters, Pacific Coast Cabling and The Kennel Club of Beverly Hills. J2 Marketing Services, Brea, announced the addition of American IC Exchange and American Bright Optoelectronics Corp. to its roster of public relations accounts. Woodland Hills design firm The DuPuis Group recently completed two major campaigns for Mattel. Del Webb's Conventry Homes of Arizona unit hired TH&M AdvertIsing in Tustin to provide brand development and advertising services for several of its residential communities in the Phoenix area. The Roxburgh Agency in Costa Mesa will assist Empire Homes in marketing its new development near Loma Linda. UTAH The Orton Group, a Salt Lake City advertising, public relations and design firm, was named agency of record by the Washington County Tourism & Convention Bureau. WASHINGTON Bozell Worldwide in Seattle unveiled a new campaign for the Northwest AIDS Foundation. The campaign includes advertisements on buses and posters and brochures in clinics and other locations. Internet pharmacy Soma.com in Seattle hired crosstown shops Tim Girvin Design and Publicis Dialog to handle graphic design projects and public relations activities, respectively.
