13 Recent Marketer Moves to Know: Liquid I.V., MrBeast, NYT, and More

It’s been another busy few weeks of marketing exec hires and exits, with chief marketing officers moving around at big brands. We’ve rounded up the U.S. and global marketing leadership moves you need to know about in the three weeks to Oct. 30. – Liquid I.V. has hired Poppi’s former CMO, Jenny Danzi, to lead its marketing department. She'll oversee the Unilever brand's marketing, creative, and consumer teams, blending its "science-backed foundation with modern, culture-driven brand building." – Online learning platform Coursera has appointed Amy Weisenbach as CMO. She arrives after nearly a decade at The New York Times, where she most recently served as CMO across its digital portfolio, including News, Games, Cooking, Audio, Wirecutter and The Athletic. – MrBeast’s Beast Industries has appointed its first CMO, promoting Molson Coors vet Michelle St. Jacques to the newly created role. She'll retain oversight of consumer goods, including snack brand Feastables (which she joined earlier this year), while taking on marketing for the wider business. – Popeyes CMO Matt Rubin is departing the chicken chain less than a year after taking the role. His exit is part of a wider marketing leadership shake-up, with two other executives also leaving. North America president Peter Perdue will take a more hands-on role in marketing while the company searches for Rubin’s replacement. – Carter’s has appointed Sarah Crockett as chief brand officer. – Eli Lilly has hired Julia Chen Davidson as svp and CMO of LillyDirect, its direct-to-consumer healthcare platform. – Diageo North America has appointed Sebnem Erim as CMO, bringing in the seasoned PepsiCo and AB InBev marketer to help turn its fortunes around. Erim was most recently svp of global innovation and growth at AB InBev. – Controversial market-prediction platform Polymarket has reportedly parted ways with its CMO Matthew Modabber. The New York Post reported in October that Modabber was dismissed after a string of unsavory incidents tied to the platform. – DoorDash has appointed Evelyn Lopez Mendoza to lead marketing across EMEA, bringing its DoorDash, Wolt and Deliveroo businesses closer together. – American Express CMO Elizabeth Rutledge will retire in March 2027 after more than three decades with the business. The marketing vet joined in 1990, then rose to leadership roles across marketing, card products and benefits, and global advertising and brand management. She's been CMO since 2018. – Spectrum is parting ways with its senior marketing leadership and eliminating the chief commercial officer role. Under the new structure, CMO Sharon Peters and chief commercial officer Adam Ray will depart at the end of the year.– Arby’s has named former Papa Johns CMO Jenna Bromberg to the same role at the company, effective Nov. 2. She succeeds Jeff Baker, who will shift his focus to culinary innovation. – Cryptocurrency exchange brand OKX's global managing partner and CMO Haider Rafique has reportedly decided to exit before the end of 2026, per Bloomberg. Neither Rafique nor an OKX spokesperson commented on the matter.
