The 10 Most Watched Ads on YouTube in December

It's a Supercell world. Other brands on Adweek and Google's monthly YouTube Ads Leaderboard just live in it. Or so it would appear from December's ranking of the most watched ads on the video site.

The mobile gaming company placed no fewer than five spots on the list, including the top two. Four of those were for Clash of Clans, and a fifth was for Boom Beach. And the overall No. 1 spot for the month, with more than 30 million views, was a 360-degree video for Clash of Clans—the first time any VR-style spot has made the Leaderboard.

GoPro and Volvo Trucks crashed the Supercell party with the No. 3 and No. 4 spots, while Victoria's Secret makes the list at No. 7. Google added two more spots (including one for Chrome) to round out the 10.

The algorithm factors in paid views, organic views and audience retention (how much of a video people watched).
