TBWA\Chiat\Day has hired Chris Beresford-Hill, a veteran of the BBDO organization, as the new chief creative officer of its New York office.

He begins the new role on Oct. 2, reporting to recently-promoted global CCO Chris Garbutt. The two will partner with New York CEO Rob Schwartz in driving new business efforts, and Beresford-Hill will also join the Global Creative Core, a collaborative group of leaders from across the larger TBWA network.

As part of this shift, executive creative director and global head of art Erik Vervroegen will also take on expanded, unspecified responsibilities in “driving creative excellence” and elevating the agency’s work for its clients, which currently include Accenture, Adidas, McDonald’s, PepsiCo and Nissan, among others.

“Chris has the energy and talent to ignite a creative renaissance in New York,” said Garbutt’s statement.
