News that the economy added 167,000 new jobs in December and wages increased 0.5 percent were met with worries that the Fed might raise interest rates, leaving stocks to finish basically where they started. The Dow was down less than 1 percent, closing at 12,398.01. The Nasdaq remained relatively flat at 2,434.25. Ad stocks were also mixed. Omnicom was down almost 2 percent, finishing at 102.24. WPP Group also finished the week down 2 percent, closing at 66.76.
