DALLAS Dr Pepper is increasing its sponsorship of college football in a five-year agreement with ABC Sports and the Atlantic Coast Conference to back the ACC’s first championship game, the company said.

Dr Pepper is part of the Cadbury-Schwepes Americas Beverages brands headquartered in Plano, Texas.

The ACC championship game will be broadcast on ABC Dec. 3. The agreement will make Dr Pepper the title sponsor of the ACC championship for the next five years.

“Through Dr Pepper’s title sponsorship of Big 12, SEC and now ACC football, we are helping to fuel excitement and passion for the sport throughout the season, culminating with the crowning of three power conference champions,” said Andrew Springate, vice president of Dr Pepper marketing.
