IMS Health CEO Thomas Joins IPG's Board

NEW YORK Interpublic Group has elected IMS Health CEO David Thomas to its board of directors, restoring it to 10 members.

Departing IPG chief operating officer Chris Coughlin left the board in July.

Thomas, 54, will also serve on the board’s audit and corporate governance committees. His appointment is effective immediately.

IMS, which Thomas joined in 2000, provides information solutions to pharmaceutical and healthcare companies. Before that, Thomas spent 28 years at IBM, starting in 1972 as a marketing representative and rising to senior vice president and group executive in IBM’s Personal Systems Group.
