SAN FRANCISCO Burson-Marsteller defeated two other public relations firms in the final round of a review to win the estimated $1 million Old Navy account, the client said Wednesday.

The PR practice joins Deutsch/LA and The Vidal Partnership as the retail clothier’s primary marketing partners.

Burson-Marsteller competed against Manning Selvage & Lee and incumbent DeVries Public Relations, both of New York. The search was managed by Select Resources International of Santa Monica, Calif., and started with 15 agencies.
