Lazar Steps Up as GM's Browner Retires

DETROIT Michael Browner, executive director of media and marketing operations for General Motors, will retire effective April 1, according to GM.

Betsy Lazar, currently the automaker’s general director of media operations, will assume Browner’s media management responsibilities, GM said in a statement.

GM spent more than $2.2 billion on ads last year, per Nielsen Monitor-Plus.

Browner has served in various media and marketing management positions with GM since 1986. His 35-year advertising career included stints at various New York-based agencies.
