Ann Derry, who founded The New York Times’ video department, is leaving the company. Politico reports that she’ll leave at the end of the month.
“Ann has been a TV and video pioneer at the Times,” wrote Times executive editor Dean Baquet, in a memo. “She has helped us to make video an award-winning, critical piece of our journalism.”
Derry joined the Times in 2000. She most recently served as editorial director of video partnerships.
