BOSTON The Golf Digest Cos. said it has acquired the Wrenfield Group, a for-profit company that organizes golf events to raise money for national charities, such as the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Terms were not disclosed.

Wrenfield will continue to operate in Ridgefield, Conn., as a unit of Golf Digest’s new-business development group. Steve Minucci, the group’s recently hired director, will oversee Wrenfield’s operations. Golf Digest intends to “grow participation in these important and prestigious charitable golf events, thereby increasing circulation opportunities,” said Mitchell Fox, company president and CEO.
