Free songs Pepsi has been offering in its tie-in with Apple’s iTunes. But the promotion has had its problems. First, some consumers said they couldn’t read the codes under the winning bottle caps. Pepsi and Apple set up a Web site directing people to send those caps in to be redeemed. But to do so, people had to fill out a form giving their name, address and ZIP code—prompting some to wonder if the whole bottle-cap problem was an intentional way to get consumer information.
