F+W Merges Two Woodworking Mags With No Layoffs
Here’s a feel-good story: F+W Media has merged Popular Woodworking with the lower-circulation Woodworking Magazine magazine with no layoffs of staff, Folio: reports. The new title will be called, predictably, Popular Woodworking Magazine. It will be printed on nicer paper and merge the visual styles of both mags: both the photography of Popular and the “understated look” of Woodworking.
Popular Woodworking published seven times a year with a circulation of 165,000; Woodworking Magazine published quarterly, didn’t carry ads, and carried a 25,000 circulation.
