Frank Gehry's First Foray Into Australia
Frank Gehry is making a big splash in Australia this week with the unveiling of his first planned project in the country, a new building for the business school at the University of Technology, Sydney. Though not a gigantic tower, and Gehry himself has told the Australian press that it’s “a small building,” it’s multi-storied and is in his familiar (see: expensive) style of something akin to a crumpled ball of paper in the front (yes, we saw Sketches of Frank Gehry, too) and all slick and modern in the front (he’s quoted as calling it “wrinkly”).
