In April, I posted about 37 Arts, a new building that Miss actually, um, liked. Shocking, I know. Anyway, I got a follow up tip about some of the construction details, so I thought I’d share with the class:
Regarding 37 Arts, which you mentioned on April 22: The new mixed-use arts building near the Javits Center uses U-Profile glass from Bendheim Wall Systems. The channels are siliconed together, not welded. Other textures of BWS distinctive LINIT glass were installed in Manhattan on E 76 St at Polshek Partnership’s design for the exterior of the Lycee Francais de New York and downtown inside Cesar Pelli’s Winter Garden at the World Financial Center.
