WASHINGTON, D.C. A key U.S. Senate committee on Thursday voted to retain the limit on TV network size that the Federal Communica-
tions Commission had voted to relax in its overhaul of media ownership regulations.

Because its decision follows an identical move in July by the full U.S. House of Representatives, the Senate Appropriations Committee’s vote appears likely to become law.

The Senate Appropriations Committee unanimously decided TV networks might own stations reaching 35 percent of U.S.
