FCB's Taney to Depart

NEW YORK Charlie Taney, vice chairman of Interpublic Group’s Foote, Cone & Belding Worldwide, is leaving the shop, effective Sept. 8, agency representative Bill Haney confirmed.

“We are in the process of adding to our executive ranks,” Haney said. “It hasn’t been decided whether or not he’ll be replaced.

Taney will be joining an entrepreneurial company in New York., sources said. He could not immediately be reached for comment.

His exit comes on the heels of an offer by FCB to Steve Blamer to become North American chief executive officer, a new post at FCB, sources said [Adweek Online, Aug.
